Frequently asked questions
Does the other person need Tembu? For reminders about people: yes. Tembu only recognises another phone if Tembu runs on it. Invite them via Invite in the app – you send the link yourself; Tembu never sends anything automatically.
Does the other person learn about my Rumbles? No. Your Rumbles stay on your device. Your phones only exchange a code derived from the number.
Does "nearby" mean we actually talked? No. Tembu detects proximity, not conversations. You decide whether a topic is done – with "Done" and a note on what you discussed.
How close do I need to be to a place?About 200 m. Save places by address or as a point on the map – under Places in the app.
Which data leaves my phone?Rumbles, recordings, photos and contacts stay on your device. The app sends usage statistics under a random installation identifier to Firebase Analytics, without names, e-mail addresses and Rumble content. When you use the map search, the search text or map coordinates go to OpenStreetMap; when you dictate, depending on the device, audio goes to your operating system's speech recognition. Details are on the privacy page. From Android 1.6.2, usage analytics requires optional consent. Decline or withdraw in Settings → Usage analytics. Earlier app versions do not contain these controls.
Do reminders appear on Apple Watch?Yes, if notifications from Tembu are allowed on your iPhone and mirrored in the Watch app under Notifications.
Is there a widget?Yes. Long-press the home screen → Widgets → Tembu. It lets you create Rumbles even faster. For incoming calls, Tembu shows the matching Rumble if you allow Phone & Call log.
